Maybe Baby by Carol Thomas (@carol_thomas2) @rararesources @RubyFiction @ChocLituk #blog tour

Today I get to share my review for Maybe Baby by Carol Thomas as part of the blog tour. Thanks to Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources, the publishers and author for the invite and ecopy of the book.

About the book

Just when you thought you had it all worked out …

Best friends Lisa and Felicity think  – maybe, just maybe – they finally have everything sorted out in their lives.

Lisa is in a happy relationship with her old flame, and busy mum Felicity has managed to reignite the passion with her husband, Pete after a romantic getaway.

But when Lisa walks in on a half-naked woman in her boyfriend’s flat and Felicity is left reeling from a shocking discovery, it becomes clear that life is nothing but full of surprises …

My thoughts

Maybe Baby is the sequel to The Purrfect Pet Sitter but don’t worry if you haven’t read it first as this works perfectly well as a stand alone.

Oh what a joy Maybe Baby was to read. Having had a run of thrillers to read this was the perfect pick me up I needed, it’s fun, addictive and just what the Dr ordered.

Lisa and Felicity have been best friends since school, Felicity is married with four kids and Lisa has her own pet sitting business and a new relationship with old flame Nathan. Being what best friends should be, Lisa and Felicity have a strong bond and are there for each other, helping each other through the tough times.

I loved these two characters, I could identify with Felicity. She’s a busy mum and wife, four children take up a lot of your time so when she feels she needs some time for herself she takes up running and signs up for a 5k run. Lisa wants to support her friend and feeling like she’s gained a little weight since Christmas sets out to join Felicity but realises that running isn’t for her ( I could identify with that too).

Lisa and Felicity have a great friendship and I loved reading how they tackled difficult obstacles together, how they leaned on each other for support when life got a little bit tough.

I got so many laughs out of Maybe Baby, I was sitting chuckling away to myself at numerous points throughout the book but there is a realness to the story as well and it was lovely reading the ups and downs of these characters relationships and life in general.

I have to say Lisa’s a lucky lady, Nathan, a firefighter who’s good looking and a pure gentleman……. well I’ll just leave that there.

Filled with many fantastic characters, human and of the fur variety, Maybe Baby was a fantastic story. It filled my heart with joy and I ended up reading it in one sitting. I’m really looking forward to catching up and reading The Purrfect Pet Sitter and hopefully we won’t have long to wait until the next book from Carol Thomas.
