My thoughts

The first thing I will say about this story is that when you do buy it, then make sure you have plenty of time to read it. This isn’t a book you can pop in and out of, it’s one that will keep you gripped. So be prepared, make a cuppa, get a blanket, grab some snacks and dive in and get lost in a wonderful story.

One minute later tells the the story of Vivienne Shager and Shelley Raynor, both very intriguing women and both very different. Vivienne’s story is told In the present where as Shelley’s is from thirty years ago. At the beginning it’s not clear how these two stories fit together but it soon all makes sense and makes for a wonderful, heartbreaking and quite intense read.

Something I’ve noticed with Susan Lewis is that her writing has a way of drawing the reader right into the story, whether it be past or present you get the sense of feeling that you are there within the story. The characters and surroundings come alive and it’s almost as though I was watching a film, it’s so easy to picture everything.

One Minute Later has two women that you can’t help growing to care for, it’s quite an emotional and empowering read but it’s also suspenseful with some quite tense and shocking moments. It’s a fabulous mixture with many great characters that really bring the whole story to life.

I absolutely adored this story, I couldn’t read fast enough and it’s a story that when you do have to stop it stays in your head and you can’t help thinking about it. It’s also a story that stays with you after you’ve finished.

A thoroughly enjoyable and gripping read and one I will be highly recommending.
