Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland #Review #BlogTour @LouisePentland @BonnierZaffre #WildeLikeMe

Its a pleasure today to be sharing my review for Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland as part of the blog tour.

Wilde Like Me

You’ll never forget the day you meet Robin Wilde!

Robin Wilde is an awesome single mum. She’s great at her job. Her best friend Lacey and bonkers Auntie Kath love her and little Lyla Blue to the moon and back. From the outside, everything looks just fine.

But behind the mask she carefully applies every day, things sometimes feel . . . grey. And lonely.

After 4 years (and 2 months and 24 days!) of single-mum-dom, it’s time for Robin Wilde to Change. Her. Life!

A little courage, creativity and help from the wonderful women around her go a long way. And Robin is about to embark on quite an adventure . . .

Published by Bonnier Zaffre and available to purchase at Amazon UK

Robin Wilde is a part time make-up-artist and single mum to six year old Lyla. Robins life is pretty good but she feels there is something missing, The Emptiness as she calls it needs to be banished and robin is on a mission to change her life.

Wilde Like Me was an enjoyable read and although I’m not a single mum I could relate to some of the things Robin feels and goes through in the story. I mean every mum at some point feels like a bit of a failure, like they could do better and I don’t think there is a mum out there who hasn’t compared themselves to other mums. It’s how things seem to be when you are a mum, sadly.

I didn’t love Robin but I didn’t dislike her either.  Sometimes I found myself thinking, you go girl and other times I wanted to just give her a kick up the bum and say “get a grip” but I did enjoy seeing her grow and develop through out the book. The background characters all felt like they had their own personalities, some likeable and some not so much.

I’m not quite sure what I was expecting when I picked up this book but I didn’t expect to get so many belly laughs but Wilde Like Me touches on a few different issues such as mental health, friendships, relationships, parenthood to name a few and really gives you something to think about.

Wilde Like Me is a great summer read, its been glorious sunshine here in Scotland so this was a perfect read, sitting in the garden (in-between baby feeds) with my feet up and I’m looking forward to reading the next instalment of Robin Wilde.
